Based in Schlotheim, Germany, Sponeta has a fascinating history. Once known as a flax trading town, it started its journey in the Middle Ages. In 1837 the first cord and rope factory, Wilhelm Hoffmann & Co., was born in Schlotheim, and from there industrialization began to flourish.

In 1955, Sponeta took a new turn and began to specialize in table tennis products, including table tennis tables and bats. The name "Sponeta" was born as a shortened version of the company acronym.

In the 1970s, Sponeta started manufacturing table tennis tables and obtained ITTF certification. After the political changes in 1989/90, Sponeta underwent further developments and privatized the company to preserve jobs. They introduced new model lines and environmentally friendly technologies, in addition to their existing range.

Today, Sponeta continues to grow and expand, with a focus on quality and innovation in the world of table tennis products. With 60 years of experience, Sponeta remains a leading name in the table tennis world.
