Degu II has the same top rubber as the Degu, but with a slower and harder sponge "Made in Japan". This sponge is high quality and elastic, but does not have a built-in speed glue effect. The sponge of the Degu II is the same as that of the SpinLord Tiger.
Although the sponge is medium hard, the Degu II is surprisingly harder than the Degu. This composition makes the Degu II ideal for chopping and blocking (in 1.0 mm) or for an all-round playing style (in 1.5 / 1.8 mm). Blocked balls can be placed short effortlessly, and undercut balls are very easy and effective to play. The control values of the Degu II are generally high.
Degu II is more dangerous for the opponent than the Degu, but weaker in topspin. Smashing is also possible, but the power of this rubber is clearly lower than other short pimple-out rubbers.
The Degu II is intended for players who previously used short stud-out rubbers with harder sponges from Chinese brands. Compared to these rubbers, the Degu II offers better quality, more versatility and higher control, while the feel remains similar. This makes the transition to the Degu II easy.
The Degu II is also a good option for players who previously played with inverted rubbers and want to try a short pimple-out rubber to increase control on their backhand side
